Skating around

As of this Sunday, we have a new weekend activity. Big Z has taken to skateboarding and ever since we found out that East Coast has one of the world's ten best skate parks that's where we hung yesterday. She happily skated amongst an all boy crew, maybe that's the appeal. The boys were super friendly about giving her advice and she already wants to return next weekend.

Speaking of skateboarding, we came across the paintings and photographs of the very cool local street art artist: Trase One at the exhibition "Off the Wall." The show features a collaboration between 18 graffiti artists from France and Singapore and Trase One's skateboarding photos were definitely our fave.

Like father like son...

Looks like my boy shares his Dad's fishing hobby.

Then again, he only caught one lousy prawn. No dinner for us tonight.

Hope we'll have better luck this summer at our favorite fishing spot: lac Champex.

Night Safari

Back out on the town exploring more children's activities

Night Safari was definitely a big hit with our children - they loved going out past their bedtime & taking the train ride to see the animals.

We're already planning our next visit. No show next time - we're heading straight to the bat cave as per Oscar's request.

Swimming with Dolphins

 Without a doubt one of my children's favorite activities so far has been swimming with the pink dolphins at Underwater World in Sentosa. A dream of theirs came true that morning. After a brief introduction to the dolphins they were allowed into the lagoon to swim around with the dolphins. Seeing them splash around made me kind of wish that I had signed up too, but then again I have visions of myself hanging on to Flipper and swimming way out into the ocean. One day...

Crocodiles in the garden

No, not in my garden, but just a 2 minute drive away from my house is a crocodile farm housed in someone's backyard, formerly Mr. Tan's house to be precise. Unusual to see these crocodiles in this residential area lying around in half filled pools of water with brand new condos overlooking the garden. Not sure I would feel very reassured. Inside the farm is a gift store selling their handmade crocodile purses & belts should you be looking for the very odd Christmas present.
